RICHARDSON, Texas — For five innings, Monday looked like another quiet night for Hatfish Softball. Then the sixth arrived, the clock ran short, and the home side put up seven runs to beat the Battle Unicorns, 10–8, at Huffhines Field No. 2.

The final was sealed under the league’s time limit. Visitor line: Unicorns 3-3-2-0-0-0 — eight. Home line: Hatfish 0-0-2-1-0-7 — ten. Hatfish, which opened Fall 2026 with a 1–3 loss to the DBC Padres, is 1–1.

The Unicorns jumped early. Three in the first, three in the second, two more in the third — eight runs before Hatfish found any real traction. The home club answered with two in the third and one in the fourth, then went quiet again until the bottom of the sixth, when the order finally broke through for seven.

That inning decided it. With the game still within reach and the clock draining, Hatfish’s 10-man card stacked hits and runs until the deficit was gone and then some. When time expired, the scoreboard read 10–8 Hatfish.

The card (locked): Taylor SS, Ben LF, Ty LCF, Brooks 3B, Cole 2B, Alfie RCF, Fisher 1B, Cook C, Bitten P, Winter RF. Outs: Grant Lacey and Creg Canalizo. No DH.

What the sheet shows: Bitten went 3-for-3 with a double — the night’s cleanest individual line from the nine-hole and the mound. Brooks added a home run and a double and scored twice. Fisher had two hits and two runs. From the top of the order, Taylor and Ben each finished with two hits and two RBI. Ty mixed a NUKE (over-the-fence out on the play; not a hit, not an at-bat) with a later hit and a run. Alfie went 0-for-3.

House scoring, for the record: a NUKE is an over-the-fence out on the play — logged as NUKE, not a hit, not an at-bat; home runs are as marked on the sheet; fielder’s choice is an at-bat, not a hit; an X is an out.

Bitten worked the full game on the hill after starting Game 1 as well. The early innings were loud for the visitors; the late ones belonged to the home lineup. That is the story the line score tells, and it is enough.

Fall 2026 continues on Monday nights in Richardson Parks & Rec Men’s E Competitive. Hatfish has its first win. The next card will say whether it was a spike or a trend.
